I have been sent this e-mail from a known and trusted friend, I can't think of a better way to circulate it than to post it on my Blog.

Please take it seriously as to ignore it could cost you some of your Christmas Savings.

As a point of interest any Telephone number with a Zero as the Third number is a Premium rate number, they can cost anything from £1.50 to £15 per minute.

BEWARE DO NOT GET CAUGHT OUT, IF YOU READ THIS THEN DO WHAT I DID, CUT AND PASTE IT TO HELP EVERYBODY EVEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM, I HATE THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!

Especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the Following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).

DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize .

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

used car dealer takes on the used car supermarkets

It's Official I am cheaper than the car supermarkets, I have for sale a Peugeot 307 1.6 S 5 Door with 36,000 miles for just £5888, an online car supermarket has the same car for sale at £7285, see their example pasted from their website below.

Peugeot 307 1.6 S 5 Door
Web only price £7285
* Pay £181.52 for 60 months

Reserve online for only £100
Petrol Manual
35564 miles
38.2 MPG , 174 g/km

They used to kill the Dealers for price and Finance but now they are falling well behind and as you can see are far from competitive.

The Term "car Supermarket" Lulls you into a Tesco type of false security, you see the word Supermarket and assume that they will be the cheapest.

Do not be fooled into parting with too much of YOUR hard earned Money.

Come to acar2go for the Fairest Deal that you will be offered.

Used car treat Diana Krall at the Albert Hall

What a great treat this was, my Secretary and I (That's the wife) went to see Diana Krall at the Albert Hall, it was the culmination of another superb month of used car sales for acar2go.

Since last Christmas and that seems so long ago now I have been experiencing such a great time, selling used cars like they are going out of fashion in fact.

When the times are good, Reward, when the times are bad, Encourage.

I saw Diana Krall on the TV some time ago, she had such a smooth, soulfull and wonderful voice, I promised my wife that if we had three good quarters of sales that I would take her to see her Live.

There was never any doubt in my mind so I booked the tickets three months ago, if you want to see a performance that will make your hair stand up then go and see Diana Krall.

There was one point where she was heckled by some rich guy in a private box, he couldn't handle the Champagne, the audience which was a sell out crowd, made him aware in no uncertauin terms that his comments were wholly inappropriate and stunned him into silence.

Diana also made us all laugh with her rebuff of the silly guy, not once but twice.

Sorry it's not all relevant to used cars today, I just wanted to share that with you.

Thanks for looking in again, you know where to go for your next great used car deal.

used car massive saving example.

I keep going on about how much money you can save by Buying your next used car from me, well as you can see in the picture above, here is a Superb Example of how much more you could end up paying from a Dealer.

I am comparing the same spec car, a Peugeot 307 S Automatic 5 Door; mine is a 56 Plate compared to the dealers 06 plate mine has done 33,000 miles, the dealers slightly less at 26,000 miles.

My car is £5,888 the Dealers is £7295, as you can see there is a Saving on my car of over £1,400, I have checked the dealers facilities, I provide Exactly the Same in every respect.

You could use the Money that you save to pay- Your next years Council Tax, Gas and Electricity Bills.

Or you could use it to go on a 14 Day Cruise for two, or Buy three 42" LCD TV's, are you getting the point? Massive Savings of Your Money to put towards anything else that You Choose!!!

PEUGEOT 307 1.6 S, 5 Doors, Automatic, Hatchback, Petrol, 2006 56 Reg, 33,659 miles, Metallic Onyx Black, MOT-08-2010, 1 Very Careful Owner From New, Full Service History, Fully Automatic Gearbox, Air conditioning, Cruise control, Alloy wheels, etc....

Marvellous Specification and for a Fraction of the Main Peugeot Dealer Price, (See Photos on my website) http://www.acar2go.co.uk/ or check out the photo above.

My car represents over £1400 Saving and I am comparing that to the Exact same car but theirs is OLDER than mine,

I provide exactly the same Facilities and Services but for a Whole lot less!

Here's the Ironic part, I buy my cars from Exactly the same place as theirs!
Bottom Line, One Owner, F/S/History, Great Condition, Brilliant Value, Will Sell Fast!

Another Series of Great used facts brought to you by acar2go.
Don't think that because you have always bought from a Dealer that you have to go back to them.
If a Dentist ripped you off would you still use them?
If a Plumber fitted you a new Boiler for £4000 and your next door neighbour got the same deal for under £2000 would you recommend or use that Plumber ever again?
If your local garage charged you £450 to change your cambelt and your mate with the same car paid £250 would you not want to use his mechanic next time?
It all amounts to the same FACT, "it is Your Money", How much of it do you want to keep and how much do you not have to spend!
Get ripped off or get a Great Deal on Your next, "Large Ticket Purchase".

acar2go Reviews

Hi, It has been some time now since I posted a review, I have been away on Holiday and otherwise very busy.

It is so hard trying to Buy Good Quality used cars that I have been expending all of my efforts just to keep my stock maintained.

I thought that I would let my used car customers do the talking so I have cut and pasted some reviews that are posted on the internet, they are available for you to review at your leisure.

If you wish to check out my current stock then please go to my website at www.acar2go.co.uk

Enjoy......

When my mums car broke down and she was told it was going to be really expensive to fix we needed to find her a new car asap.

Via Autotrader I found a car that fitted the bill with acar2go, I emailed Mark to find out if it was still available.

Despite it being Marks day off he replied promptly and we arranged to view the car at 8 am the following morning since I needed to get to work.

We were happy with the car and arranged to buy it straight away.

Mark kindly agreed to organise taxing the car as well as valeting it and delivering it to my Mums house by noon the same day!

He also drove her to the garage to her old car and helped her unload her belongings into the new car.

It was way beyond the call of duty, I would recommend Mark and acar2go to anyone.

Suzanne Hughes - 4 Oct 2009

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Daughter bought a Peugeot 206 from Mark and she is really pleased with the car.

Mark was very helpful and patient with us females and went out of his way to explain details about the car.

Very reassuring to buy a second hand car from a local dealer, I will definitely be returning to buy my second daughter a car from him.

Carole Jones - 7 Sep 2009

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Mark, Sorry it's taken so long, I just had to write to say thank you!

The Mondeo is fantastic in every way!

But the thing that most impressed me was the professional way you took care of my wife and I.

You have made me change the pre-conceived way I look at car salesmen or should I say sales person, I would have no hesitation in recommending my family and friends to buy a car from you!

Best wishes from a very satisfied customer!

Cheers from Sunny Sheffield.

Shaun Handisides - 5 Sep 2009

Having had some bad experience in buying a used car before, acar2go was recommended to me by someone who had already purchased from Mark, so I was already expecting good service, However, the level of professionalism surprised me.

Time was taken in making sure that the cars I liked the look of also served my needs which raised some issues I hadn't thought of.

I was impressed that there was no pressure sales chat just an interest in finding me the right car, the prices offered were very competitive.

I managed to stay within my budget including getting some great value warranty cover, he also sorted out the taxing of the car for me.

When the time comes to change again I will definitely go back to acar2go.

Daniel Molloy - 3 Sep 2009

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought a car from acar2go about a year ago which had a few niggly problems that were unfortunately not covered by the warranty.

Despite that Mark sorted everything out quickly at no cost to me and without any fuss, for which I was very grateful.

The car I bought was 4 years old and although very well presented and clean, it had a few small marks on it.

Mark was completely honest and fully disclosed everything, including the fact that the bumper and bonnet had been painted which I never would have known.

I was so happy with the service that I recently bought a second car from him, I would not hesitate to recommend his company.

I felt completely at ease with him and was grateful for the No Haggling Policy on the price, this made me feel quite comfortable knowing that I wouldn't need to negotiate.

I had viewed cars for sale privately at more money with no warranty so knew that the prices were fair and reasonable.

Thanks again for a great service.

Keep up the good work.

George Hook - 2 Sep 2009

I purchased my Ford Focus from Mark last year and I have been very pleased with the car.

If you want personal service from someone that isn't going to mess you around, then I would highly recommend buying your car from acar2go Ltd.

I would not hesitate in recommending him to my friends and family and will definitely be buying my next car from him.

I don't think you would be able to get such a good quality car for the money anywhere else.

Zoe le Jeune - 28 Aug 2009

I would recommend Mark to anyone and have. He listens to what your wants are, advises from his experience and comes up with the goods.

I have a Black STDi Golf 3 years old which is just fab, spec what I wanted, two days to arrive, new tyres put on, MOT'd early for me, nothing was too too much trouble.

I will be back when I need to change it again. mark is a friendly, trustworthy, reliable guy, with no bull.

He does not make women feel intimidated or useless, which I found refreshing.

Good luck with the business Mark!

Terri Holloway - 28 Aug 2009

acar2go has provided my daughter with her first car! Good value for money, all documentation provided, up to date MOT & full service history.

Sold with honesty! Fantastic customer liaison - so good in fact that we went in for one car and came out with two!

He offered a Super Fair price for my Honda CRV, very happy with that.

I Will recommend to all and will certainly return again for daughter no 2!!

This probably doesn't mean much to you but what it means to me is that I am now Licenced to be able to Offer Finance Subject to Status to my Customers.

This is a Great advantage to me as it means that I can now arrange Finance for you when you come to buy your next used car from me.

This means that I really am a One Stop Shop now, I can supply you with not just the car but the Finance too; take that in Harmony with the fact that I can offer you a Fully Serviced car often with a new MOT, Free Valet, Free Mats, Free HPi Certificate, Free 7 Day Drive Away Insurance Cover and a nice cup of tea or coffee.

I can take your details over the phone and propose you to Several Different Finance companies to get the best rate possible, I can even do this with little or no Deposit, give me a call and let me do all the work on your behalf.

This is a great move for my business and as such I hope that it will help me to win your Business.

used car dealers all a bit Samey (pronounced sayme)

I had a great weekend and wasn't the weather nice.

One of the used cars that I sold this weekend was to a chap and his Mum, it was a Peugeot 206, lovely car and very well priced.

They told me that they had been to many dealers and got the impression that all their cars were between £500- £1,000 over priced, the car that I sold to them was just £4875, they found the same age car in not such good condition with almost double the mileage for £5,999

Dealers have menu prices, they stock a range of cars that they put within this framework, for example, 05 plate Fiesta £5,999, 05 plate Clio £5,999, 05 plate 206 £5,999, 05 plate Corsa £5,999, they then line them up next to each other and let your desire do the rest.

A used car can be a spontaneous purchase, you put your own car in for a service and whilst wandering about the used car sales forecourt you spot these cars all at the same price and make a casual enquiry, before you know it, BANG, you have Bought a car without really thoroughly and diligently researching the deal!

If you did your homework as many people do by checking out the cars and prices at my website www.acar2go.co.uk then you will find that you can save a lot of Your hard earned Money.

I do not have menu prices, I sell my used cars car at what I think is Fair and I don't Haggle.

I also sold a Nissan Primera to a Gentleman and his Son, it was only on sale at £1,675, the recommended retail price in Glass's Guide is £2,350, he asked me what I was going to knock off the price, the answer as always was Nothing.

I asked him to give me a reason for a price reduction! The car was well presented, had no damage, had a Superb Full Service History on top of that I had Serviced it and put a new MOT on it, there were also a full set of New carpet mats in the car and the tyres were all virtually new.

Do you know what he said? "Well you always get something off when you buy a car, it's just normal, if I was buying it from a Nissan Dealer I would expect about £500 off."

I re-stated what I had done to the car and showed him the bills for the money spent on it since I had it, he paid the Full price and drove away Happy in the knowledge that he had bought a great car for a very good price.

Just because it's normal to go into a Dealer and get £500 off a car that is overly inflated to the tune of £1,000+, doesn't mean that you will get a discount from me, because my used car prices are always bang on the money.

If you are in the market for a used car, look elsewhere first then check out my prices, I promise that you will be pleasantly Suprised.

Another comment that one of my customers at the weekend made was that the sales staff in Dealerships jumped on them really quickly making them feel very uncomfortable.

When you come to me I let my cars do the talking, they do all of the work for me and really do Sell themselves, I prepare them as well as I can, taking care to ensure that the valet is to a high standard, if they need a service within 3 months then it is carried out otherwise the vehicle gets an RAC approved Periodic Maintenance Inspection, if it has less than a 6 month MOT then I will do that as well, any small parking dings are removed and minor blemishes touched up or professionally blown in.

My cars come with Free mats, Free Fuel, Free 3 Mths Warranty and Free 7 Day Insurance Cover; I also offer a Free Valuation on your current vehicle and if that value is agreeable then I will take it as a part exchange.

I will soon be offering Finance as I have applied for a Consumer Credit License, you will then have the ultimate comprehensive one stop shop.

Incidentally I will also make you a nice cup of tea or coffee served with biscuits and cakes, cold drinks and sweets are also available for the kids.

Pop in and see me when you are looking for your next used car, you can read the Testimonials and Thank you letters and check out the photos on my Happy Wall.

Thanks for looking in again, hope that you found this interesting.

Kind Regards

acar2go 1 year trading anniversary.

I should have posted an entry yesterday as I have been in Business and trading as acar2go for one year as of the 17th July 2009.

What a great year I have had, Thanks go out to all of my customers for their business and for the incredible amount of referrals that I have had from them.

It's not rocket science really all you have to do is offer great used cars at great prices, present them as well as you can, deal with concerns or problems quickly and efficiently and do exactly what you say you will do every time.

I have this philosophy that I treat my customers as I like to be treated myself, an old addage I know, but how many people especially in Dealerships, talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

Answer, " most of them" the biggest comment that I get time and time again is that when my Customers enter Dealerships they feel like they are viewed as a number with £££ signs attached to them.

Obviously I want to sell my used cars as much as the next person, however even when they make a decision to buy from me, I ask them a final question, "Are you sure" only when they answer in the affirmitive do I then take their deposit.

I have sold cars for over 20 years now and have taught many other people to successfully do the same, customers want to feel comfortable with the person that is about to put them in debt for the next 3-4 years, they have to believe that you can be trusted and want to deliver the very best product and personal service that you can to them.

I do exactly that, day after day, every time, Guaranteed.

If you are looking for a super deal on great used car then do yourself a favour, come and see me.

Until then.

Thanks for looking in again.

Cat C & Cat D ladies re-visit me again.

Hello to all my readers.

I had another visit from the two lovely ladies that are still looking for a car, Mother and Daughter although you wouldn't have guessed it, more like Big Sis helping Little Sis.

Anyway they told me that they are still looking for a car only a bit more cautiously now since our last meeting.

If you read a bit further down you will see my last entry regarding Cat C & D cars.

They have looked at so many cars and told me they have wasted (Not) money on loads of car checks, they have done this by logging onto my website www.acar2go.co.uk and following the car check link, if they had not carried out these checks they may have fallen victim to the Scum that prey on people that do not exercise this level of due dilligence.

The above is not a reference to Ray Winstone when he appeared in the Film of the same name "Scum" with the famous lines, Where's your tool, What tool, this F*****g tool"

I could do without him landing on my doorstep; so I hope that we are clear on that Ray.

This would have cost them an awful load of money as they could have bought a written off car which would be worth @ 25% of what they paid.

Do not buy at the roadside, these cars are very often un-taxed, un-insured, have little or no service history, are likely to have been clocked or have had serious accident damage.

There are different stories that you will be told, we moved house and lost the service history, we have the last MOT that proves the mileage is correct, it doesn't matter! if the car has not been serviced in years then you are buying somebody elses trouble.

Do you think that these people are just selling the one car that you are looking at? look at the other cars in the surrounding layby's they will probably have the same phone number in the window, also when you called them and asked about the car that they have for sale did they ask, "which one"?

Do you think that these people will offer you any kind of Warranty? do you think that they are insured or that they will pay tax and VAT on the profit from the car that they sell to you? do you think that if you get a problem small or large that they will give a stuff?

Be clear on this, all they actually care about is getting your money, after that you are on your own, you don't even have an address to get back to them on, unless they sleep in the side of the road, the mobile number that you have for them is probably just a pay as you go mobile sim card number which they ditch and change after they get too many complaints.

If you want to buy a quality used car with a warranty, that is RAC Standard checked before sale, from an Honest individual that has a Limited Company which can be verified at Companys House, is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses, is registered for VAT and pays Tax and National Insurance and incidentally will look after his customers before and after the Sale than come and see me at acar2go.

Do the right thing, you know it makes Sense.

Thanks again for looking in.

Kind Regards

People come from far and wide to buy from me, the lady with the Yaris came from Bracknell, 45-55 Miles away, does she look Happy, Oh Yes!

My price for this land Rover was over £1,500 less than the dealers price, I can also serve your Tea/Coffee in a Bone China cup!

Great Happiness and a long distance travelled to secure the deal on this Streetka Convertible!

Getting ready to go Topless this Summer, another satisfied Customer..

A collage of happy smiling faces, nearly everybody that comes in says that they recognise someone in the photos.

A continuing wall of faces, like a never ending story, I hope for me that this is just the case.

Why should you buy a used car from me.

I remember when I worked at Retail Dealerships and sometimes you would get a customer that would say, "Why should I buy from you instead of anybody else?"

We were given a script to recite if ever asked this question, it was a bit tongue in cheek, quite crass and almost an insult to their intelligence, all delivered with your cutesiest smile. :-)

Now that I work for myself I don't have to follow the script, I do however have genuine reasons which I will now list.

1) I give gainful and profitable employment to many local businesses.

2) I look after my customers well after they have taken delivery from me, should they encounter any niggles or problems with their car.

3) I am always available on my mobile number or e-mail address and will respond quickly to any request for contact for any reason.

4) I offer great deals, with a back up that you don't get from the dealers, I am the Company Director, when you call or e-mail you deal directly with me.

5) My prices are well below dealers, don't take my word for it, select a car that I have on sale and try to better the deal elsewhere, you will struggle!

6) It's not just the car that you are buying, when you deal with me you are buying the right to come back to me for any advice or with any concerns.

7) I supply Free mats, Free Warranty, Free Road Tax (If it is still with the car), Free Valet, Free Periodic Maintenance Inspection before delivery, I'll even make you a nice cup of Tea or Coffee.

8) Free Fuel that is still in the tank, I won't syphon out the fuel from the petrol tanks. Dealers have a machine that does this, they use Free Fuel from part exchanges, etc, to fill up fuel cans or their own cars, have you ever wondered why when you go for a test drive in a garage the Fuel gauge always reads Empty? Another Little Known Trade Secret given up by acar2go.

9) I am VAT Registered, Incorporated at Companies House, Have Full Public Liability Motor Trade Insurance, Pay VAT, Tax and National Insurance Premiums on Request, unlike the car sellers that have their vehicles for sale in laybys up and down the country.

Beware on point 9 above that if you have a test drive with one of the layby car sellers and are unfortunate enough to have an accident, you are by no way or means insured, all liability then rests with YOU, YOU will be pursued by the Police and prosecuted by the full weight of the Law!

10) I am approachable and easy to get along with, I listen to what you want and will deal with any concerns that you have very quickly, I will not fob you off and will genuinely resolve any issues that may develop expediently and efficiently.

You may realise that I am (but only in some instances) a bit dearer than embarking on a Private Sale, I am never the less wholly better value than the dealers and unlike on a private sale you will have Peace of mind with a comeback.

I really do appreciate my customers; Come and have a look at my Happy Wall, I have photos and testimonials from many happy people, I do get an awful lot of referral business, whenever anybody arrives at my site they always say what a great set up I have and that they never would have known that I was here.

I will take a photo of my Happy Wall and post it on my Blog page.

Thank you for reading this rather long Entry, I hope to have you as a Customer at some time in the Future.

Best Regards

Used Car Warning Cat C, Cat D, Write Offs

Hi, Sorry that I have neglected my Blog lately, it seems that when you are busy the mind tends to clear and you only Focus on the immediate tasks.

A lady and her Daughter came in to see me Yesterday, they said something that was so Bizarre that I thought I had better report it on my Blog page with a view to educating people that are as like minded as they were.

They were due to leave my premises to look at another used car that was unbelievably Cheap, I asked them a few questions and warned them that they may be going to look at a Cat C or D.

This immediately sparked a memory of a phrase that they read in the vehicle description, "Cat D" they thought that it was something to do with the (Cat)alytic Convertor, a Tragic misconception which could have cost them dearly had we not met.

If the phrase Cat C or Cat D is in the vehicle description it is a thinly disguised attempt to hide the fact that the vehicle has been written off in an accident, I will state that again for those amongst you that didn't get it the first time around, it has been "WRITTEN OFF IN A SEVERE ACCIDENT" resulting in extensive damage which the Insurance company deemed too costly to repair.

Many of these cars are sold as Salvage to anybody that has a few hundred pounds, they do a Bodgit and Scarper repair job and sell it on to YOU the unsuspecting "Billy Bunter" (Punter) Legally they don't even have to tell you unless you ask, even then they probably still wouldn't.

Often they are unscrupulous traders, "no honestly there are a few", posing as Private sellers, the story often goes along the lines that they bought it for their wife and the boot isn't big enough for the pram/shopping/wheelchair, etc, or she can't park it, or she has gone off the colour, or some other lame excuse, you've got an imagination how many can you think up in 3-5 minutes?

When you buy a car it is a large ticket price item, get a HPi check done on it YOURSELF, don't rely on the one that they produce for you, these can be cut and pasted onto a word document and altered to read anyway that they want!

If you go to my website www.acar2go.co.uk there is a link to carcheck, they will supply you with a lot of information including if the car has, 1) Mileage discrepency (5% of cars on the road have been clocked) 2) Outstanding Finance, (A staggering 24% have outstanding Finance) 3) Plate Transfer, (15% have had one or more) 4) Whether it has been written off in an accident, (4% have had a significant Insurance claim) 5) whether it has been reported Stolen, (1 in 300 are registered as Stolen)

In the words of the Great Clint Eastwood, "Do you feel Lucky"?

These statistics are very Scary, which is why you should only buy from a reputable company that has their business registered at Company House, are registered for VAT, are members of a well known Trade society such as the Federation of Small Businesses, have been practicing their trade for a number of years, are well respected and known in their local Community.

I have just realised that I have actually been describing my own Company.

Well I'll be blowed, a used car company that is honest, approachable, sells only great, reliable Good Quality used cars and does exactly what he says he would do every time without fail.

As one of my Lovely customers said once to a friend of hers, If you want it straight with no Bu****t then go and see Mark at acar2go.

Please take the above Warning Seriously as if you get caught out with a Write Off, you will have lost loads of YOUR Money, the Trade do not entertain these cars at all, they are worth about a Quarter of the Book price of normal cars, even then we don't want them!

Thanks for looking in again, hope you found this information useful.

Kind Regards.

Aylesbury Young Enterprise Awards, acar2go

I have to give a mention about the Aylesbury Young Enterprise Awards which took place at Aylesbury College on the 30th April 2009, what a great night.

You would not believe the amount of talent that was revealed on the night.

Basically there were teams from most of the Schools in Bucks, they had to form a Company and run it as a going concern, they had to appoint a Director, Accountant, Human Resources, Purchasing Manager, etc.

They had to raise funds, (Many sold shares in their Company's) and decide on a product to take from the design floor to the Market.

They had various Focal points, such as trade shows, school assemblies/functions, local markets, etc.

It wasn't like Sir Alan in the Apprentice, the Team that makes the most Money wins and in the losing teams, one of you will get Fired!

There were some decisions to Fire people within their teams, I have to tell you that raised
Screams and Laughter in equal proportions.

There were some Great presentations throughout the evening, I picked out Four likely Winners and all four of my choices were indeed just that "Winners", I had a chat with the chap sitting next to me, he agreed with two of my choices.

As a Director of my own Company, I get invited to quite a lot of functions, I have to make all of the choices that you all got to make as a team by myself.

The big difference being that if I fail many people suffer, as like the weakest link of a chain, the poor performance of my Business will affect many others, if I fail to sell many used cars then my Valeter, mechanic, body shop, driver, parts supplier, advertising outlets and all other suppliers, etc will get less work from me, this will impact on their business and will be reflected further down the line to the links in their respective chains!

One of the Girls Groups summarised it quite well, she said, "The whole experience had given her a great insight into the Adult Employment World, Wholly different from the two weeks work experience that most schools send you out on where most of the school kids are just glorified tea boys and general Go fors!

I was very impressed with the Talent that was displayed on the evening, it is wonderful to see that we have so many aspiring young individuals that are extrovert, outgoing, witty, clever and that think outside the box.

Well done to all of you, Thank you for a very entertaining night and Good luck in all of your future endeavours.

Never mind Britains Got Talent, "Aylesbury's Got Talent".

Thanks for looking in again.

What a Plonker!

I should fine the time to complete my Blog page as loads of people are logging on to it and like a Plonker I have let you down, Sorry!

I have just been so busy, the used car market is still in such great shape and that is allowing me to have a super time with rich pickings, I use that word loosely as I am certainly not getting rich as I sell my stock of great used cars at such tremendous prices.

A friend of mine rang me the other day to tell me something, he said that he put "acar2go" into the google search engine and right above my listing popped up "Perrys".

It would appear that they are paying for a sponsored link to "acar2go" so that every time somebody types "acar2go" into any search engine that they come up right above me.

He thought that I would be furious that they are piggy backing off my success, far from it I am flattered that Perrys think that I am such a viable competitor that they now use me to draw business to themselves.

Bearing in mind that I worked for Perrys for 10 years and I was the most successful Used car Sales Manager that they ever had;

My performance on their behalf has never been surpassed or matched since, as a Marketing tool I would certainly not have bared my neck to predators as they have, I put it down to short sighted inexperienced Suits who are not used to being at the sharp end of the Market.

On the flipside, they are quite insane if they think that this is a positive move, when people see my prices and compare them to theirs then they have will have lost whatever advantage that they thought they might gain!

Thank you Perrys for yet another Monumental Mistake, I appreciate the leg up, you would be surprised how many people have told me that they have been to your site and how happy they are that they then found me.

Right that is enough on that matter onwards and upwards.

I think it's great when somebody asks me why my cars are so cheap compared to others that they have seen in worse condition and with more mileage.

The answer is simple, I buy carefully and only then the best cars, I do not put ridiculous or unrealistic margins across them and aim to sell within 2-3 weeks Max, if I have a car for longer than 4 weeks then I dispose of it within the trade before the next book value drops.

I do not Haggle, there is a sign in my office which states that the price is the price, I am a fair man and do not want to take advantage of anybody that is why my used car prices are Fair and Reasonable.

One of my most precious customers has now referred 5 other people to me, 4 of those subsequently bought a car and I have just now signed and sent the Fourth cheque to him for £100 that is £400 he has pocketed just for being a Happy man and telling his friends and Family where to come.

If you are one of my existing Customers reading this then Please remember that when you refer somebody to me that buys a car, I will either send you a cheque for £100 or service your car for FREE.

To qualify for this Offer you must have bought a car from me or experienced my customer service in the past, that includes any of my old Customers from either Perrys, West of Thame Ford Dealer, Aylesbury Ford in Cambridge Street before it became a Supermarket, Thames Valley Ford in Slough or Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Hemel Hempstead.

If I have served you well in the past then Please give me a call, I love seeing my old Customers and now because I work for myself I am the Boss, the buck and the Decision on the deal stops with me.

Thanks again for looking in.

I have sinned

Forgive me readers for I have Sinned, it has been nearly a Month since my last Submission!

I have been having problems with my laptop, it forgot/wiped out all of my passwords, I have only just found my Blog password and user name, it was written down somewhere safe.

March was the best month that I have had in terms of used car sales, I actually sold over 20 used cars, at a time when we are supposedly deep in a recession.

I know that times are hard out there, I have adjusted my stocking profile accordingly, I mostly sell small cars, they are known in the retail motor trade as "Superminis"

Glass's Guide the motor Industry Bible, has carried out market research that confirms that they have gone from position Nine in March 2006 in terms of the most cars sold to Number One in March 2009.

The magnitude in the change of fortune for small "Supermini" type of cars can therefore be clearly seen, there are many reasons for this a few of which are, cheaper to buy, tax, run, insure.

The cost of disposal is also a strong consideration as the 3 year old Ka, Corsa, Punto, 206, Clio, etc, are now worth nearly 50% of their cost when new, the same cannot be said for the Focus, Astra, Megane, Civic, A3, C4, 307, Leon, Corolla, Golf, S40, etc.

I have met a lot of nice people in March, realistic people that appreciate my product, prices and the value of the service that I have offered to them, I still get the odd call with the opening line, "What's your best price" Save the money that the call cost you, the price is the price, I don't haggle, these people never come to see me because they want something for nothing.

I do not buy from spurrious sources, all of my cars are HPi clear, there are many supposed private sellers on Auto trader and all of the other sites, that WILL SELL YOU a Write off, you have absolutely no comeback whatsoever.

As private sellers they don't even have to tell you, even if you ask the question! Sometimes they hide the phrase "cat c" or "cat d " within the text of their advert or disguise the fact by stating that the car did have some scratches that have now been repaired and that the car is now immaculate!

Ask yourself a question, If the Insurers did not want to repair the car and put it back on the road then do you really want to own it, as a rule of thumb a CAT C OR CAT D WRITE OFF, is worth about a third of a regular cars value, the identity cannot be erased even if you put a private plate on the car the fact that it has been a Write Off will still be disclosed to a buyer when they do a check on it.

When I worked at a dealership a customer tried to part exchange a write off against one of our used cars, when the history of his car was revealed we cancelled the deal.

You cannot be Hoodwinked if you operate due diligence, pay to have the vehicles background checked, even if you have to pay to check the identity and background of ten cars it is cheaper than getting stuck with one that is an Enid Blyton, (That's trade talk for, there's a Story to it!)

Caveat Emptor, Latin for "Buyer Beware".

To be totally safe, come and see me, I only sell good quality used cars, I try to buy them with only one or two owners as it is then easier to track their past, I allways keep previous MOT's and any bills for tyres, battery's, etc as this goes someway to re-inforcing that the car has been regularly cared for.

The main thrust of my business is that I can find the ideal car for you, I have many trade contacts up and down the Country, I do hold some used cars in stock, these are quick selling popular cars, often between £2-5,000, they are all checked by a local Aylesbury Garage and if needed are serviced or MOT'd, they are all Professionally valeted and come with Free mats, Fuel and Warranty.

Buying from me is a real No Brainer, come in and see my Happy Wall, this is a collage of photographs each of which is one of my Happy Customers, I have a lovely little set up which everybody comments on, I will give you a cup of Tea or Coffee in a Bone China cup and there is no charge.

I am a consumate professional, everything that I agree to do for you will be done, the buck stops with me as I am the Company Director, a fancy title that basically means, I wash up, sweep up, clean up, make the tea, pay all the bills and most importantly ensure that all of my Customers are Absolutely satisfied!

Thanks for looking in again, Sorry that is has been so long.

Used cars are not being affected by the Credit Crunch!

Forgive me Customers and readers it has been 10 days since my last blogging.

I have been MENTALLY BUSY trying to maintain the level of quality used cars that I am renowned for supplying, it is not easy, I drive up and down the Country, visiting many dealers.

You see I only buy my used car stock from reliable sources, mostly dealers but also some private purchases.

I had several customers in today thay remarked how they were considering most of the models that I have in stock, peugeot 206, Renault Clio, Ford Ka, Vauxhall Corsa, peugeot 306, rover 200, etc.

I told them that I have been in the Motor Trade for 20 Years and I only buy the cars that are very good sellers, I prepare them to a standard that is beyond what you would expect even from a dealership.

I spent about 5 Hours today valeting the Renault Clio that is available on my website www.acar2go.co.uk

used car pandemonium

February has been my best month since August last year, Thank you to each and everyone of my customers.

I had a great suprise this week as one of my loyal customers from when I worked in a Dealership tracked me down, he was after a car for his wife, he went into the Dealership and asked if anybody knew where I had gone.

This is the great bit, they all shook their heads because they knew that if they sent him my way that the outcome would be predictable.

So they lied, the staff from "Evans Halshaw Vauxhall in Hemel Hempstead" who all know exactly where I am, LIED!

Hardly a suprise, after all they are typical Used Car Sales People and what more could I expect?

I on the other hand am not a Liar, which is one of the reasons that I left the great Used Car Dealership Rat Race, which according to numerous accounts highlighted many times by the Media is renowned for Lying, Cheating and outrageous profiteering, not that I am pointing any of these harsh and hard hitting comments at my previous employer!

That could be interpreted as a bit unfair as I only have my old faithful, honest, loyal customers word for this, why would I believe his word over that of all the people that I used to work with in the Used Car Sales Industry!

Anyway regardless of any of the above my customer did manage to track me down, he did this by going onto google and entering the following, "Mark Duncan used car sales" hail the all seeing and mighty power of the Internet.

I have already had a super referral from him and will be supplying one of his close friends with a car in the next few days, incidentally he didn't appreciate the way he was treated whilst on his last visit to the Dealership and as he has now found me guess where he will be going in future for all of his cars!

I heard another horror story from a Customer that went to Auction, to "Save some Money" he bought a car and was rubbing his hands together at the potential saving of @ £600, sounds like a Super Deal to me, however when he pulled into a petrol station he went the wrong side of the pump, no problem just move to the other side, "Big Problem" as the reverse gear in the
gearbox was knackered, he has had a quote for a new gearbox, he won't be getting any change out of £1200 so not such a great deal after all.

I have heard the same type of story time and time again over the years, don't get caught out, get a comeback, when you are looking for a great deal on a used car with WARRANTY then come and see me.

Thanks for looking in again.

used car sales comment from somebody elses customer

Hi Good Morning and welcome to another day.

Do something for me before you read on, TAKE A VERY DEEP BREATH, Release and then again, if you are still with me then guess what, you are still alive.

You are a survivor of another Recession sodden day.

My Dad used to say no matter how bad it gets there is always somebody worse off, just look at the sad situation with regards to Jade, who would have thought a year ago that all the Sunday papers would be covering her imminent demise.

Be Happy that you are not in her dire situation.

I hope that you enjoyed my Daughters entry earlier on my Blog, she is only 10 I didn't have the heart to check her spelling, she only spotted afterwards that the date was wrong, life is a learning curve, we have all been there.

I didn't realise that one of the people I was dealing with had left a comment after a Blog that I wrote on the 9th December, he didn't buy his used car from me in the end but I assisted him along the way.

I firmly believe that we should do somebody a bit of good as long as it is without detriment to ourselves or connections.

What follows is a cut and paste version of my Blog and his Comments, I would like to Thank Matt for his kind words and hope that the used car that he now have is serving him well.

Buying a used car from me or somebody else
Hello again and welcome to another edition of acar2go.I had a mediocre weekend of car sales, with only two of my four appointments turning up, now I know that it was Tayters on Saturday but if your not going to turn up, the courtesy of a phone call would be polite!

This comment is only directed at the Coventry man, Guess I won't be sending one of my cars to Coventry after all, which is good because since the plants died it's been nice having them around for the company.

Imagine if you made an appointment with me and I didn't turn up! or the car that you made an appointment to see was dirty because I couldn't be bothered to clean it!I was always taught that we are, "Ladies and Gentlemen Serving Ladies and Gentlemen". And by doing to him as in similar cases you would wish he would do to you, or in modern English, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

Remember you Reap what you Sow!I would like to Thank Matt and Steve for turning up and also to Ian for the polite text message and for turning up today with his wife Laura and Children, I look forward to the phone call tomorrow.

Matt, I know that we didn't have a deal because of the lack of Isofix but it was nice to have met you anyway, I hope that you are happy with the way in which I still tried to help you with some helpful advice and information, Good luck with your Honda.

Here we are in the depths of the Season of Goodwill, I watched Miracle on 34th Street with my kids at the weekend, when I heard Chris Kringle giving out details of other stores that stocked toys that they didn't have it tickled me.

I always watch other dealers stock and am constantly giving out phone numbers and addresses for other used cars that I don't have or have already sold, remember you reap what you sow, I believe in Karma.

Just a brief note about used car warranties, when you go into a Dealership you expect them to have your leg up but not your pants down too; we used to charge £365 for a one year used car Warranty and for two years it was £499, now we're all entitled to make a living but let's not take the P*"s.

We were told to say, "at just £365 it works out at a Pound a day for Total Peace of Mind".

I charge £199 for a Comprehensive one Year RAC used car Warranty and just another £100 for the second year, Now That's Value!

My Warranty also covers Blown Head Gaskets and Catalytic Convertors, they didn't cover those items within the aforementioned Dealership Warranty!

A bit of High Horse, a bit of philosophy, a bit of general information and a bit of Whistle Blowing, now that's entertainment.

Don't forget to look in again soon.

Bye for now.

Thanks for the mention Mark - thought it appropriate I just give my take on acar2go.

In short, I can't help thinking if there were lots of acar2go's all round the country, the nation's used car dealers might have an infinitely better reputation!

I normally feel somewhere, somehow I'm being fleeced when I buy a car - and indeed I have been in the past. But I actually don't think Mark's got it in him - he just wouldn't do it!

I mean, I didn't even buy a car from him, not because of anything he did, just because I found the EXACT model, colour etc I was after elsewhere.

And even knowing that Mark actually sent me a free HPI check on a car he hadn't even sold - just out of goodwill!

So my advice is, if you don't want to have that horrible nagging feeling you might be about to be sold a wrong 'un or stitched up in anyway whatsoever - get yourselves over to Aylesbury.

Peace of mind motoring - it's how everyone should be selling. Here's to acar2go opening up in your town one day!

Now there's an idea ...

My dad has sold alot of cars lately so has not got many cars left, but call him and ask for the car you want and he will try his best to find it for you!!

Thank you for taking the time to read this entry for my dads site.

used car disaster experience.

A lady came in to see me today with a terrible story of woe, I warn people all the time about buying from Auctions, some people never learn!

She had bought a Vauxhall Corsa for her Daughter, rather should I say her and the Husband did; he told her that they would save a lot of money by buying a used car at Auction, Problem there is he's a Builder.

Now if I wanted an extension built or a brick wall erected, maybe a patio or conservatory built then would I attempt it myself, No! I would call a Builder.

So why when a "Builder" wants a used car does he then suddenly become the expert on the Motor Trade?

Otherwise known as the Barrack room lawyer or the Pub expert, they should come to somebody like me, I'm in the Motor Trade and know what I'm about.

Not only that but we also offer a Warranty, will service, MOT and valet the car and will sort out any little niggles that come up soon after the sale, we also offer you a test drive.

So rather than accepting these small graces, he had a quick look at the outside and then bid more than he wanted to and bought an Enid Blyton, that is Motor Trade slang for "There's a story to it"

Now let me tell you a Story, he didn't realise that "Mileage not Warranted" which was what was written on the Auction vehicle description form stuck to the window, meant that the car mileage cannot be relied upon to be correct and may have been clocked.

After he paid what he bid oh, and also the Auction Commission fee and indemnity fee, @ £250-300 more than he thought he had agreed to pay, he was given the Documents and a ticket to go and get his car, it took him nearly two hours to dig it out, it was buried amongst another 20 or so cars.

After they got home, a very bumpy ride as one of the wheel bearings was gone, also the brakes were shrieking as they were metal to metal, they found upon checking their documents that it had 9 previous owners, (Not bad for under 4 years old) and had no Service History, worse still the MOT had just 6 weeks to run.

The next day reality set in and they took it to a garage for a check up and MOT, what a pile of Dog Poo, the car was condemned big time!

It Failed the MOT, the emmissions were all over the place, it needed a Catalytic Converter, a Wheel bearing, new brake discs and pads, a spare wheel because it was missing as were the Jack and Wheel brace, the CD player wasn't even wired in and when it was wired up guess what it didn't work, it also had a blown head gasket and a leaking radiator, the thermostat didn't work, the sunvisors were missing, one of the doors didn't work on the central locking and the drivers electric window only went halfway down very noisily, needing a new window motor!

When they lifted the boot carpet, here comes the worst bit, it had been welded and badly repaired, the colour match was different on about 5 seperate panels, how could this expert Builder not spot that!

I offered to take the car as a part exchange but my bid was a great deal less than they had paid, I can only sell it at another Auction as I wouldn't trade it on to any of my colleagues as that would be very wrong, "WE" don't do that to each other!

Caveat Emptor, Buyer Beware, Come to me and you will have a comeback, go there and you are on your own, really, really on your own..

I have heard similar stories many, many times in my 20 plus years in the Motor Trade, Please, Please, Please do not become a victim of the Auctions, whatever you do for a living, Tinker, Tailor, Builder, Sailor, you are not the Expert in our Field, WE ARE!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for looking in again, I just had to tell you this, Beware, Beware, Beware!!!

monster used car sales weekend

What a brilliant used car sales weekend I have just had.

Thank you to the Darren from Gatwick, hope that your wife loved the Micra when you got it home.

Thank you to Ross and Sue from Reading, I hope that the car is perfect for you and your young Family, don't forget when your younger Brother needs a used car that I pay £100 referral commission.

Thank you to Francesco from Oxford, hope that your journey back in the snow was uneventful.

Finally Thank you to Rosemary and Arthur Crutch, I received a very nice e-mail from your Daughter this morning, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you both, I am so glad that you are so Happy with the Corsa

It was so busy that I managed to have one coffee all day and no food, everybody made appointments and as a result of that everything ran smoothly.

Not all of my used cars are in one place which is why it is important to call me first as I have to ensure that the car you are interested in is on site for when you arrive.

I had a bit of a rant about a week or so ago on my used car blog page because people were turning up without calling, it just makes me look bad and I'm not.

The used car sales market has shown a major upturn of late, I am now desperately trying to fill the spaces that I have available as I have pretty much sold out, I will only buy top quality used cars to offer so it is a hard job that I have ahead of me as there are a lot of Nasty cars out there.

The housing market is on the way up, apparently our houses are now worth 1.5 % More than they were last month, this is the start of the rise of prices across the board, cars are next as they are the second largest purchase that we all make in our lives.

I have warned you that prices were on the way up, do not delay as your pound will buy you more used car now than it will in three months time, get on board or you will be buying an older higher mileage car for the same price in days to come.

That's all I have time for today, Sorry.

Thanks for looking in again.

predicted rate cut happens, price of used cars now!

I predicted a rate cut of 0.4-0.75%, in the end we got 0.5%, a pretty educated guess, that and my uncle happens to be on the Bank of England pay roll, (Only Joking) Sorry Unc didn't mean to drop you in it.

So how much will your next used car be going up to? Do you know that dealers can put their prices up as well as down and loads of them are doing that right now, so what's the reason for this change in tactic?

Well since the market was so quiet there was loads of available stock, infact a surplus, however now there is a shortfall as you Savvy customers come flooding back to the market.

Forget the SAD Syndrome, get out there and cheer yourself up, retail therapy big style, never mind the handbag or shoes, treat yourself to a nice used car, I haven't put my prices up I still offer the same brilliant value quality used cars as before.

But get in sooner rather than later as the wholesale prices that we have to pay are on the way up, this can only mean that the price to you will be higher, If you want to catch the best price which comes in between the lowest and the highest then ACT NOW, failure to do so will make your pocket/purse much lighter!

I have prophesised again, as with the rate cut this prophesy will also come true, used car prices are on the way up, if you intend to act in 2-3-4 months time then keep todays motoring adverts and compare them to the ones that are newly published when you are ready, you will kick yourself, O.K. I know that anatomically that is not possible, so instead kick the person, Husband/Wife that cost you all that extra money and while your doing just that remember, " I told you so".

Thanks for looking in again.

Which Magazine slates used car dealers.

What follows is an edited version of the latest "Which" report on car dealers, I must say that the content of the article comes as no suprise to me, when I worked at Dealerships we all had our chains yanked by the powers above.

The lady's and Gentlemen that you meet in the dealerships are just the puppets, the people sitting in the Ivory Towers are their puppeteers, pulling their strings on a daily, sometimes hourly basis.

I often thought about writing an Expose on what I had experienced during my "time on the Floor", in the end I thought that I actually quite like my legs and so just went out and started my own reputable and credible used car sales business.

I do business in just the right way, I believe in Karma, what goes around comes around, treat others as in similar cases you wish they would treat you and you won't go far wrong in life.

I am the most honest used car salesman that you will ever meet, I believe totally in full disclosure, I will always be on the level with anybody that comes to see me about buying a used car, I will never look to hoodwink you only ever offering a fair and square deal, my fidelity also is beyond question, I do hate it when people clearly and deliberately try to deceive me and I can tell..

Enjoy the article............

Car dealers still have a bad reputation which is certainly justified according to Which magazine!

The findings which came as no suprise and are now revealed in the consumer body’s latest edition, where it lays into car dealers with all guns blazing.

‘Car dealers’ reputation for sharp practices could be justified,’ says Which?.

This followed undercover investigations that discovered loads of bad examples.

12 out of 26 dealers made ‘dubious or vague claims,’ for example. 4 of these could have broken new consumer protection regulations.

Which? even suspected some dealers of using ‘bait and switch’ tactics. This is where a car is advertised despite car dealers knowing they have none in their stock. The aim is to upsell an alternative.

In one Mystery shop experience the sales person went off into an office then comes back out stating that the advertised car is sold! You then get the full blown sales pitch on another car.

‘The ghost of Arthur Daley is still very much alive and kicking, unfortunately. Dealers have had ample time to get used to the new rules, but too many still let car buyers down.

‘If dealers want to win the confidence of their consumers, especially in these tough times, they need to change their habitual ways and play by the rules.’

Rate cut Thu 5th Feb used car prices on the way up!

Tomorrow, Thursday the 5th February will see another rate cut, I estimate that it will be in the region of 0.4 to 0.75%.

The situation in the Country is on the way up, I have already sold a third of the amount of used cars that I sold in the whole of January!

It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to hear customer feedback, one customer told me that he looked at a 54 plate old shape Zafira with 55,000 miles that was nearly £1,000 cheaper than my 55 plate new shape Zafira with 35,000 miles, the dealership margin comparison would have been nearer to £2,000 different.

He also told me that the car was very rough and that the guy wouldn't negotiate on price; I don't haggle either but my used cars are all very well presented and worth the money!

I also had a phone call from a lady in Reigate in Surrey, she asked me, what was wrong with the used car that she was enquiring upon, when I replied absolutely nothing she then said, "Well why is it so cheap" I Love it when people say that, she was just being a bit cautious with her money, she made an appointment to come in last weekend to see the car, problem is I sold it on Thursday.

Although people do come in at weekends, understandably because that is when all interested parties can be present, other people also come in on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and buy cars, if they didn't then all Dealerships in the Country would close until the wekend.

There is a saying in the Motor Trade that is often quoted to Procrastinating Customers, "The car that you saw Today and are thinking about Buying Tomorrow, Somebody else saw Yesterday and will buy it today" However the Customer that sees Today and Buys Today will beat both of the aforementioned.

I am an eternal Optimist, I know that the Country will Bounce back, when we ascend into that time, the price of everything will go up including big ticket purchases, cars, white goods, etc, etc.

Come on there has never been a better time to buy a used car, mine are priced to sell everytime, I have not sold a car yet to a customer that hasn't been very Happy, come in and see my photo wall, full of smiling faces, Happy people and for a very good reason, they saved lots of their hard earned cash.

I already have 3 appointments for Saturday, one for Sunday, one for Friday and one for Thursday, come on give me a call, I can stilll fit you in, my diary is at the ready!

Thanks again for looking in.

Frenetic used car sales activity wekend

Anybody would think that I had a sale on at the weekend as I was inundated with people, I would appreciate it if people could make an appointment, just a quick phone call to organise a time would be great.

I have a lovely unit on a Farm and am not visible from the road, this is great because I don't get afflicted by the normal crowd of time wasting tyre kickers, most people that come to see me check over the phone that the car is available before they travel.

I do keep my website up to date on a daily basis, but only ammend it in the evening so please check before coming in to see me, I had somebody in from Rugby to see a Zafira, not a short distance, they thought because it was on my website that it was still available!

I had three appointments on that one car alone, the second person to see the vehicle bought it, the first went away to get an insurance quote and missed out, the third one got a phone call from me to cancel their visit, a good job because they were coming from Ampthill near Bedford.

I have a fresh batch of stock due in today although I don't know if the delivery company will be able to get through the snow, I am working from home at the moment but will be going in soon myself.

I have no doubt what so ever that we will be getting another rate cut this Thursday, care of the good old Bank of England in their endeavours to get the Country back onto an even keel.

There have been a load of people paying cash for the cars that they have been buying from me, this indicates to me that people not only still have the money but are prepared to spend it as the interest on savings has gone through the floor.

I have had an absolutely brilliant January, the figures of used cars that I have sold have surpassed my business plan by almost double, there is no rocket science to this, I have been in the Motor Trade for over 20 years, I know the Formula for success.

I buy quality cars at the right price, I prepare them to a standard that dealers would be happy to emulate, I then sell them at a fair price, I also show respect and consideration to the people that are helping me to survive during this hard time; I won't be getting rich any time soon but I enjoy working for myself, the bills are all getting paid, the Bank Manager is happy and most importantly my Customers are very Happy with the deal that they have had.

Please don't forget if you are one of my existing customers reading this, I will pay you £100 or pay for your next service if you refer anybody to me that buys a car.

Please check my website for used cars that I currently have available.

Thanks for looking in again.

Regards.

2009 sees car buyers bonanza, Press Release.

Here is an interesting article that has been sent out as a press release by Automotive Management to all branches of the media, it backs up precisely what I said in my previous blog, it really never has been a better time to buy a new or used car.

Remember what I said about the Media being muted about Good news, let's see how many of them take the opportunity to tell YOU the general public, the Very true, factual and Good news that is in this article.

Happy Reading..

As the SMMT announces a drop in car sales of 11.3% for 2008, AM Magazine has launched a campaign to alert the car buying public that there has never been a better time to buy a new or used car.

This week’s issue also urges the national press and TV reporters to focus on the reality that a combination of interest rates close to record lows, cashback offers, VAT at 15%, 0% finance deals and falling residuals mean that buyers have a great opportunity to save considerable sums on car purchases.

With Gordon Brown under pressure to provide financial support to a number of car firms, AM Magazine believes that the British public has the opportunity to provide financial support and bag a bargain at the same time.

Stephen Briers, editor of AM Magazine (the newspaper for the automotive industry) comments: “A small but growing band of retailers, carmakers and local paper journalists are starting to recognise and promote the fact that there has never been - and never will be in the future - a better time to buy a car.

"While the reaction by the public has so far been muted, the New Year will bring a degree of improved optimism – and car buyers need to take advantage.”

While TV reports and national newspapers have been dominated by stories on falling car sales, manufacturing plants cutting production and business closures and redundancies, AM is backing the UK car industry to highlight the amazing deals that are available to retail buyers.

There are several factors leading to the current buyer’s market in cars:

• Low interest rates – today lowered to 1.5% and tipped to fall to as little as 0.5% in the second quarter with some suggesting 0% is not inconceivable

• Cashback offers from several manufacturers• Three- and four-year 0% finance deals from many manufacturers, including Citroen which has also revived its no VAT deal on selected models• competitive Personal Contract Purchase deals, including zero deposits

• VAT reduced this year from 17.5% to 15%

• Two for one offers from dealers, including Central Garage on the Isle of Wight (buy Citroen C4 Picasso, get C1 free), Broadspeed in Essex (two for one on Dodge Avenger and Kia Magentis) and EMG Mazda in Norfolk (buy CX-7, get Mazda2 free)

• The raft of new low emission, high fuel efficient models such as VW Blue Motion, Ford Ecotec, Mercedes BlueEfficiency and Peugeot Blue Lion will also save motorists money on running costs
It is expected that later this year manufacturers will put up their prices.

So dealers are offering incredible deals to encourage customers to buy now. Vauxhall, Chevrolet and BMW retail group Peter Vardy in Scotland is offering discount savings on local radio.
It is also attracting customers with free servicing, nothing to pay until Easter, cashbacks and 0% finance deals.

“The deals on new and used cars are as good as they are going to get,” said group chief executive Peter Vardy.

“Manufacturers have lots of cars to sell and their offers are very strong.”
The incredible offers are not expected to be around for long however. As well as manufacturer price rises, many analysts expect taxes to rise in 2010 and a new VAT rate of 20% has been suggested.

For used cars, the massive drop in residual values at the tail end of summer means prices are now much lower than a year ago.

Figures obtained by AM Magazine from residuals pricing guide CAP reveal that the average used value for a three year/30,000 mile lower medium car has fallen by 20% from December 2007 to December 2008.

Upper medium cars, executive cars, MPVs, convertibles and supercars also exceeded a 20% drop while 4x4s fell by nearly 30%.
However, industry sources claim that used values across all sectors, while significantly lower than a year ago, have started to stabilise.

In December they actually edged up slightly on the previous month.

AM Magazine Editor Stephen Briers concludes: “Consumers who have put off buying a car because they think that they can’t afford it should look very closely at some of the deals available, as waiting may just be a false economy.

"When it comes to buying new or used cars, the motto of the moment is ‘spend now, save now’, and it might just be more than hard cash they are saving, it could help save an entire industry”.

used car sales in a recession???????

So according to the Media, we are now in an official Recession, the last recession in 1990 lasted for two years until 1992.

I have to tell you that I was in the motor trade all through the last recession and although the new car boys and girls were crying about the lack of footfall, we were selling used cars like they were going out of fashion.

I was winning awards during this "TERRIBLE" period for being the best sales executive in the Group, in my best month I sold and delivered 34 cars (my all time record is 54 delivered in a single month in 2002)

The good old Media have in my opinion been instrumental in aiding us to slip into this current time of doom and gloom, they have created a self fulfilling prophesy.

If they were to talk about loads of good things then we would be able to climb out of the situation very much sooner than we now will be.

They will probably wait until we are naturally recovering and then jump in with all their power like the Cavalry coming over the horizon, making us believe that they were on our side all the time!

I have seen no drop off in buying behaviour, some people think (again because of the media) that they are in a buyers market and try to bid me on my already brilliantly priced used cars, my answer to them is simple, I don't do deals, I only advertise on the internet, as a result of which my prices have to be super keen and they are because I sell out every month.

I seldom have a used car in stock for longer than 3 weeks, the quickest sale of one of my amazingly priced used cars was within 1 hour of publishing it on the internet, I took a deposit over the phone from a lady in North Wales, she was fed up with arranging to see cars only to find them sold by the time she got there.

Last month I had twelve calls alone on just one car, proof indeed that when you price your used cars fairly then the calls will come.

I am still being plagued with people that start the call with, "I don't want to waste your time" which means exactly the opposite, then they do exactly that and make me a Stupid offer on one of my advertised cars.

Some people must have upgraded their phone packages to get loads more Free minutes than they have ever had before, I know this because they use some of those Free Extra Minutes by trying to haggle with me, I mean how seriously do they expect me to take them when they haven't even seen my car?

I have to make a living so the answer is always "NO" my cars are good enough value to with stand a few Knockers, they allways end up selling before the month is up so the only loser then is them.

There will be somebody that will sell for less, the question to ask then is "WHY" and the answer is nearly allways because the car is something of an "Enid Blyton" that means that there is a story to it, excuse the pun but you can read into that what you will, trust me whatever it is, it ain't good.

"Caveat Emptor" that's Latin for "Buyer Beware" so do your homework and don't get caught out or better still buy from me and never catch a cold.

Thanks for looking in again.

All that backs up the fact that people are still buying, what's the point of keeping it in savings when you are getting a pittance back in interest.

I spoke to a chap yesterday he was looking for a used car, he seemed to be on a bit of a low ebb, I asked him if everything was alright, he said that his Dad had died recently and left a good few quid behind, well you can't take it with you can you!

He was feeling a bit off sorts and went to his Doctor, he was diagnosed with Cancer on the Monday and was Dead by Friday of the same week.

Live for Today, life is not a rehearsal, we are here once and once only, be comfortable and spend your money, do not try to save it for somebody elses inheritance, deep down they wouldn't say no to the windfall but would rather you had a relaxed time here than a restless one on the other side..

Happy new (used) car

I am Sorry that I haven't Blogged so far this year, I have been so busy that I haven't had a minute to spare, welcome to 2009 and to the first of many Blogs.

I have many new customers that are extremely happy with the (new) used cars that I have sold them, they have a very good reason to as well because I probably sell the best used cars at the very best value.

The super value used car deals that are available at the moment cannot continue as the interest rates are so low, that the buyers are now returning to their pre market downturn behaviour; there is likely to be another rate drop on the first Thursday of February and that will potentially start an Exodus back to the market!

The average monthly drop in used car residual value during 2008 was 3.5% or 42% annually, that was almost double that recorded in 1992 at the lowest point of the last recession.

The average 3 year old car now is worth between £1,500 and £1,700 less than it was the same time last year.

All this means that you will never be able to buy again at these prices, do not miss your chance to enjoy this bounty as when the bubble bursts the prices will go sky high!

You have been warned, don't say I didn't tell you when it happens!

I have been having a wonderful time since the new year, I have sold so many cars that I am struggling to buy new stock quickly enough to fill the spaces, as you will know I only buy top quality cars and often go 3-5 days without making a purchase.

I have some lovely cars in at the moment so please look me up if you are looking for a top replacement for your current used car.

Thanks again for looking in.
